A Matter of Balance

This evidence-based program taught by certified clinicians and professionals is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. This program targets elders that are ambulatory and able to problem solve as well as anyone concerned about falls. This program will be offered weekly over an eight (8) week period: designed to benefit community-dwelling older adults who: • Are concerned about falls • Have sustained falls in the past • Restrict activities because of concerns about falling • Are interested in improving flexibility, balance, and strength • Are age 60 or older, ambulatory, and able to problem-solve. CHAIR YOGA

? This beginner friendly chair yoga class will focus on maintaining and gently increasing mobility, deepening breath and improving balance. ? We will explore various yoga poses and flows on and around the chair. ? Please bring a mat if you have one; otherwise one will be provided for you. ? Wear comfortable, layered clothes and plan to eat a light, healthy meal about two (2) hours prior to class. ? No registration necessary – drop-ins welcome! ? Cost is $5.00 per class.
