Michael Ernst Memorial Square will be dedicated at the corner of Sohier Street and Fair Oaks Lane at Noon at Sunday, October 22, 2023. The ceremony will be followed by a rededication of the Gold Star Mothers Memorial at Woodside Cemetery. Chief Naval Special Warfare Operator Michael Ernst died during a training exercise earlier this year.  A Cohasset native and the son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Ernst, Jr., Michael grew up in Cohasset and graduated from Thayer Academy and Denison College.  He enlisted in the Navy in 2009, becoming a Navy SEAL in 2012.  Among his many military awards and decorations was the Silver Star, awarded for valor in combat.  More information will be forthcoming.
