MEALS ON WHEELS
Meals on Wheels has been designed to provide just the right combination of good nutrition and a friendly visitor for people 60+ who may not have enough food, be able to prepare their own food, or understand the proper nutritional requirements as they are advancing in age.
Meals on Wheels is there to support seniors and clients in our communities.
All meals served meet one-third of a participant’s daily nutritional requirements and are designed to be low in sodium, fat, and sugar. If the participant’s doctor requests a diabetic diet plan, usually that can be accommodated by offering a modified meal.
Meals on Wheels also offers:
- Ethnic meals
- Therapeutic meals includes Renal, Ground and Pureed meals
- Emergency meal packs are provided to all elders in the event of catastrophic (inclement) weather conditions
If you are interested in receiving more information about the Meals on Wheels program please contact Diane Picot, Assistant Director and Outreach Coordinator, at the Cohasset Elder Affairs offices at: (781) 383-9122 or by email at dpicot@cohassetma.org
