On Tuesday, November 15, 2022 during the regularly scheduled Cohasset Select Board meeting, a presentation on a citizens' petition to create a navigation bylaw will be given to the Select Board. The citizens' petition states in part, that the purpose is “to see if the town will vote to amend the Town of Cohasset General Bylaws by adding a new bylaw entitled ‘Navigation Bylaw’ as follows, or take any action related hereto. The proposed bylaw has no known direct cost.”
According to the proposed Navigation Bylaw, “Pursuant to Chapter 54 of the Acts of 1953, the Town of Cohasset has the authority to enact this Bylaw to provide for regulation and enforcement of rules and regulations for the operation of motor boats in Cohasset harbor and cove within the territorial limits of the Commonwealth, and of the mooring and anchoring of boats, lobster cars or floats therein.”
