ELEMENTS OF COHASSET HISTORY

Six Interesting Cohasset Residents of the Past, with Bob Jackman. Six sessions, Tuesdays, October 4-Nov 8. 1:00-2:30 pm. This course will present biographical sketches of a half dozen Cohasset individuals who led interesting lives that impacted the town and left a lasting imprint on the community. The profiled people will be from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Each week’s program will focus on a single person and convey a different aspect of Cohasset history. Two of the individuals discussed will be Abraham Tower and the Aaron Pratt (born in 1832). RSVP by Monday, Oct 3 by calling 781-383-9112 or via www.myactivecenter.com. $25.00 per person.

A licensed manicurist performs manicures for ladies and gentlemen at discount prices. Lady's Manicure, $15. Gentlemen’s manicure (shape, clean, buff, and hand massage), $10. Polish on hands, $5. TECHNOLOGY DROP-IN HELP

Wednesday October 5, 9:00–11:00 am. Help with computers, tablets, smartphones, Facebook, Instagram, Skype, texting, etc., with Brigid, the technology librarian from Paul Pratt Library. First come, first serve. FREE.

Thursdays from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.. Our drop-in cribbage group is looking for players. Bring a friend! FREE 

REFLEXOLOGY

Second Tuesday of the month, October 11, 9:00 am-12:00 pm, by appointment. Reflexology is the application of pressure at various levels to the foot to produce a positive effect on a corresponding body part to release blockages that cause pain or illness. Thirty-minute reflexology session by a certified reflexologist, Anne Brennan. Register by calling 781-383-9112. Payment is due at the time of service. $30.00 per session-per person.

SECOND FRIDAY OF THE MONTH BOOK CLUB

Friday, October 14, 10:30-12:00. Join us on the second Friday of each month for a fun and lively discussion. New members are encouraged to attend. Drop-ins welcomed.

HALLOWEEN HARVEST “SONGS OF THE SEASON” 

Wednesday, October 19, 1:00-2:00. Join us to celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of New England and a performance by Parent’s Choice Award Winning performer Davis Bates. The program includes harvest stories, songs from the past and present, ghost stories, and family tales. Warm cider and apple cider vinegar donuts will available. The Cohasset Cultural Council funded this event. *Weather permitting this event will be held outside under the tent. RSVP by Friday, October 14. SHINE OPEN ENROLLMENT PRESENTATION

Thursday, October 20, 1:00-2:00 with SHINE Counselor, Lynne Buckley. The presentation will cover understanding your Medicare/MassHealth rights and benefits. The importance of reviewing your current plan. Why it is imperative to review your current drug plan and how to reduce costs. What public benefits you may be eligible for.
