The Assessors' Office has created an overview of the departmental operations to assist taxpayers in business dealings with our office. We hope to inform the public to better understand the assessment process, taxpayers' rights, and the exemptions available to qualifying residents.

The Town of Cohasset has an assessing staff of 3 full time employees who manage the daily activities of the assessing department, under the direction of the Board of Assessors. The Board of Assessors consists of 3 elected members, each member being elected on alternate years. Currently there are 2 licensed and qualified real estate appraisers on the board. The deadline for Overvaluation Appeals with the Board of Assessors is Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM. The application is available on the website at 

​Applications must be in the Assessors’ Office by the close of business on Thursday. The Assessors’ do not have jurisdiction to take action on any application that is not received timely.”
