The Assessors' Office has created an overview of the departmental operations to assist taxpayers in business dealings with our office. We hope to inform the public to better understand the assessment process, taxpayers' rights, and the exemptions available to qualifying residents.

The Town of Cohasset has an assessing staff of 3 full time employees who manage the daily activities of the assessing department, under the direction of the Board of Assessors. The Board of Assessors consists of 3 elected members, each member being elected on alternate years.  For more information view the Assessor's Department page.

Overvaluation Appeals:
Overvaluation Appeal Applications for FY 2020 may not be accepted until the FY 2020 Actual Tax Bills have been mailed. 

Application Deadline:

Overvaluation applications for FY 2020 must be received by the Assessors' Office by close of business (4:30 pm) on Monday, February 3, 2020 

Note:The Assessors’ do not have jurisdiction to take action on any application that is not received timely.
